Suggested Specifications for Architects and Engineers

SINGLE SK SYSTEM

Furnish and install as shown on plans a Single Type SK Hydro-pneumatic House Pump System as manufactured by Federal Pump Corporation, to include the following integrated components:

Furnish one Federal Model _____flexible coupled, bronze-fitted, ball bearing, end suction centrifugal pump and motor unit. The pump shall have a cast iron volute, bearing frame and suction plate; bronze impeller, wearing ring and shaft sleeve. The pump shall have a stainless-steel-fitted mechanical shaft seal. The pump and motor shall be mounted on a fabricated steel bedplate. The pump shall be rated _____GPM at _____ft. TDH. The motor shall be _____HP, _____phase, _____cycle, _____volts, _____RPM, open drip-proof. (NOTE: A specification for close-coupled or horizontally split case pump and motor unit can be substituted for the above. See the applicable pump bulletin.)

Furnish one Federal Model_____ air compressor and motor unit, rated _____CFM at _____PSI. The compressor shall be driven thru an adjustable belt drive by a separate motor and mounted on a separate steel base, complete with loadless starting device, filter-muffler and belt guard. Motor shall be _____HP, _____phase, _____cycle, _____volts, 1750 RPM, open drip-proof.

Furnish two horsepower rated magnetic starters for the pump and the compressor, in NEMA-1 wall-mounting enclosures, each to have a hand-off-automatic selector switch in its cover.

Furnish two sets of Fed-Rail vibration eliminator rails for the pump and the compressor, of the rubber-in-shear type with steel top and bottom rails.

Furnish two Fed-Flex hose connections, _____inch size, for the pump suction and discharge lines. Furnish one Fed-Flex hose connection, _____inch size, for the compressor discharge line.

Furnish one soft-seat, all-bronze, spring-loaded check valve for the pump discharge line. Furnish one air check valve for the compressor discharge line.

Furnish pressure relief valves for the tank and compressor. Furnish one set of gauge glass and cocks for the tank.

Furnish one single pump and compressor controller to maintain pressure and water level in the tank. Controller to be equal to Heally-Ruff Type PW-63 1-pump Roto-trol.

DUPLEX SK SYSTEM

Furnish and install as shown on plans a Duplex Type SK Hydro-pneumatic House Pump System as manufactured by Federal Pump Corporation, to include the following integrated components:

Furnish two Federal Model_____ flexible coupled, bronze-fitted, ball-bearing, end suction centrifugal pump and motor units. The pumps shall have cast iron volutes, bearing frames and suction plates; bronze impellers, wearing rings and shaft sleeves. Each pump shall have a stainless-steel-fitted mechanical shaft seal. Each pump and motor unit shall be mounted on a fabricated steel bedplate. Each pump shall be rated _____GPM at _____ft. TDH. Each motor shall be _____HP, _____phase, _____cycle, _____volts, _____RPM, open drip-proof.

Furnish one duplex pump and compressor controller with built-in alternator to maintain pressure and water level in the tank, and to alternate the operating cycle of the pumps. Controller to be equal to Heally-Ruff Type PW-63 2-pump Roto-trol with Alto-trol.
