BASIC SINGLE UNIT includes one pump (for 2-ft. thru 4'6" pit depth)
plus one motor plus one float switch (float switch is motor mounted for 1-ph.
units and suspension plate mounted for 3-ph. units).
BASIC DUPLEX UNIT includes two of the components described
above.
NOTE: All prices are F.O.B. Brooklyn, N.Y. except for cast iron basins and
fiberglass basins, which are F.O.B. Indiana.

OVERLOAD PROTECTION:
Single phase motors have built-in overload protection. Three phase motors do
not have such protection and require a magnetic starter.
NON-STANDARD SUSPENSION PLATE:
To substitute a 20" dia. suspension plate for the standard 14" dia.
suspension plate, add per pump --- $228
PIT DEPTH ADDITIONS:
When the pit in which the VB-1-1/2 pumps are to be installed is deeper than
the standard 4'6" depth, make the following list price and weight

Discharge pipe and suspension plate are deducted and a floor-stand base is
added. Available only for pit depths of 4'6" or less.

ALTERNATORS:
One (1) pedestal mounted alternating float switch on duplex units in lieu of
the two (2) standard float switches, ADD --- $108
One (1) pedestal mounted alternating float switch plus one (1) pedestal
mounted 2-pole auxiliary float switch on duplex units in lieu of the two (2)
standard float switches, ADD --- $936
PEDESTAL MOUNTED FLOAT SWITCHES:
In lieu of the standard motor mounted or suspension plate mounted float

OMISSION OF FLOAT SWITCH:
Omit float switch from basic pump and motor unit, deduct for each

ADJUSTING COLLAR: Cast iron adjusting collar to fit around suspension leg
and permit field adjustment of pump length (Fig.3 pumps only, add per

SPECIAL THRUST BEARING CONSTRUCTION: Standard VB-1/ units have solid
couplings and the thrust is absorbed by the motor bearing. A flexible coupling
and a ball thrust bearing in the motor pedestal can be furnished, if desired.
