MOTOR PROTECTION:
All single phase motors have built-in overload protection and, therefore, no magnetic starters are required for these units. Float switches on these units are wired directly to the motors at the factory.

All three phase units are furnished with magnetic starters for motor protection. The magnetic starters are mounted on the unit and factory wired to the float switches and motors.

COLD WATER MAKE-UP VALVE:
All-bronze mechanical float-operated make-up water valve in the receiver when the VCL unit is to act as a boiler feed unit and the VCL pump(s) is to be controlled by a level control switch mounted on the boiler.  The standard float switch(es) are omitted on these units.  Add the letters 'BF' to the unit number (i.e.: VCL-120-2 becomes VCL-120-2BF).
