FEATURES:
CASING:
Cast iron construction; tapped for drain, vent cock, and pressure gauge. Suction
and discharge connections are standard ASA flanged type for easier installation.
These pumps are of the back pull-out design to permit removal of the motor and
all rotating parts without breaking the suction and discharge connections.
Casings are centerline discharge for automatic venting when used in the standard
vertical discharge position. Discharge can be field rotated for 90° position
changes.
IMPELLER:
Single piece enclosed bronze casting, fully balanced with the diameter cut for
specific condition points. Cast iron impellers are available for all-iron pumps.
SHAFT:
The pump end is mounted on the motor shaft, thereby eliminating alignment
problems. Shaft is alloy steel, turned and ground.
SHAFT SLEEVE:
Renewable bronze shaft sleeve prevents contact between the shaft and the liquid
being pumped. Stainless steel shaft sleeves are available as an option.
WEARING RING:
Renewable bronze wearing ring pressed into the pump casing is standard on CK
models and optional on CC and CG models.
MECHANICAL SHAFT SEALS:
Leakless mechanical shaft seals with ceramic and carbon faces, plus stainless
steel components eliminate maintenance and adjustment problems. A copper bypass
line (standard on CG and CK models, optional on CC models) prevents dead-ending
of abrasives in the seal chamber. Non-standard mechanical shaft seals are
available for special operating conditions.
MOTORS:
Motors are of standard NEMA drip-proof design. Totally enclosed and explosion
proof motors are also available. Motor bearings are factory lubricated and
sealed for long life without field lubrication. Fractional H.P. single phase
motors have built-in overload protection. All other motors should be provided
with magnetic starters. Standard NEMA Type JM close-coupled pump motors are
utilized for ease of replacement and to provide short shaft overhang, reducing
the effects of axial strain on the motor bearings.
MODIFICATIONS:
Standard pumps are of bronze-fitted construction. Liquid ends can also be
furnished in all-bronze and all-iron construction. Pumps can be furnished in
flexibly coupled style, if preferred.
ACCESSORIES:
Accessory items are available including cast iron drip-rim bases, vibration
eliminator rails, flexible metal hose connections, motor starters, control
panels, etc. (NOTE: CC pump construction may vary slightly from the
standard CG and CK pump construction described.)

NOTE 1: The information shown above applies to CCB/CGB/CKB flexible
coupled pumps as well.
NOTE 2: The following are the years in which new style pumps replaced old
style pumps:
CC - 1981
CG - 1980
CK - 1978
CCF - 1981
CGF - 1981
CKF - 1981
NOTE 3: Old style close-coupled pumps are available with mechanical seals
only. Old style flexible coupled pumps are available with mechanical seals or
packing glands.
NOTE 4: Old style pumps are available up thru 15 HP 1750 RPM and up thru
20 HP 3450 RPM. Old style pumps for higher horsepowers require special
machining.
